"All Cacti are Succulents, but not all Succulents are Cacti"
I think it's time for a little summer in the gloom of winter. Some of these pictures were taken in my garden last summer, and some I snapped after they were brought indoors and bloomed in the early winter.
Euphorbia milii 'Crown of Thorns'
Mammilaria fraileana
Coryphantha sp. unknown
Nematanthus 'Goldfish-Plant'
Lithops helmutii 'Living Stone'
Lithops karasmontana 'Living Stone'
This Lithops is planted on the succulent wreath I made last summer. It bloomed near the end of the summer. Gorgeous!
Lithops karasmontana 'Living Stone'
I don't know the name for this pretty guy, if you know, please let me know. Thanks! :)
Echinopsis sp. unknown
Faucaria tigrina 'Tiger Jaw'
It was so exciting watching my succulents bloom last year. It was the first time I had any flowers on them and some I've had for years! I'll definitely be putting the pots outdoors again, they really enjoyed the hot courtyard.
Do you have succulents or cacti? Have yours ever bloomed for you? If you know any of the names I don't know, I'd love for you to let me know. And if I've named any wrong, please correct me!

You have a lot of plants! Very nice. I have a pot of catus left from years ago from the Botanical gardens in Phoenix, AZ but some out of the pot have died. The only other thing I have is hen and chickens and not very many and a aloe vera in the house. I live to use that when I burn myself! I also have a Phili.. and a rose scented atari for other plants in the house. Don't know how you keep up to so much! Nice pictures! Nancy
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie - do you have a green thumb or what?
ReplyDeleteThese are all just gorgeous!
Hope you had a heart filled day :)
Hugs,
Suzan
Lovely succulents. I don't have any but love to see the blooms on them at the various stores.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful, aren't they? I don't have any, but I do enjoy their blooms :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Hugs,
Stephanie
Luv these! I have a few succulents and have had some blooms but I have also killed a few and am still learning how to grow them properly.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so rewarding when they bloom? I've lost some too over the years, they are almost foolproof, but still do have special requirements. :)
DeleteI think they are succulents, but what ever they are I love them, they are my go to potted plants that I can keep a live in the hot Florida summers with little water!!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Oh yes, they would do well down where you live! :)
DeleteThese photographs are stunning! I've never seen nor heard of a Living Stone before. Incredible! I love succulents, and these are the most interesting I've seen. You've inspired me to try growing some when it warms up around here. What a colorful green thumb you have, if you know what I mean. :) Have a great week, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome post! And such beautiful plants, flowers & photos. My favourites are the Lithops of course. :) I think the one you've ided as Lithops helmutii 'Living Stone' might actually be a Lithops lesliei instead, although I'm not completely certain. Either way, they're all very beautiful looking plants & you should be very proud. Congrats Debbie!! :)
I like your page a lot. I used to collect succulent and cacti, I don't know why I am not doing it again. I found your blog on Pinterest and I liked it. You have inspired me to go that route again. Since I live in So. Cal in the desert, I really should go down that road again. I forgot how beautiful all the succulents are. Thank you for sharing your garden with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and your comments! I'm so glad you are going to get back into these plants, especially since you live in the ideal climate for them! :)
DeleteI felt I needed to leave a comment, I really enjoyed your page! And you have inspired me to start growing succulents and cacti again.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I hope you have success, they are awesome plants. :)
