Finally, my spring bulbs are starting to bloom! And no, it's not an April Fool's joke. :)
Nothing like having spring blooms when the snow is flying. (Yes, we had snow this morning)
Crocus among the sedum
Pansies planted last fall starting to bud out
Hellebore putting out buds while still covered in snow
Waiting on more spring bulbs to bloom, including these narcissus
Have your bulbs started blooming? Or, if you are further south, are they finished?
How lovely to have spring blooms on this very chilly, windy, April 1. We don't have anything. Most of my spring blooms are in a north facing garden so they are just poking through the ground now. Some of the garden still has some snow on it.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. We had so many tulips at our last house, but I haven't planted any outside in our current yard. I have a few perennials starting to green up, but that's as far as we are in Alberta (it's been too cold!).
ReplyDeleteWe still haven't had that one warm day that will cause the crocuses to open - they are up, but still closed up tight. I am waiting with my camera :-)
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful ! Mine are just above ground ! We are south west of you I think ! The temps have been cold as has the winds but the sun is warm ! I think we are getting the cold off of Lake Erie this spring as we are about a 6 min drive away and live in a valley with a river around it the temps can be very different then the higher land temps ! Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the crocus among the sedum. You have way more blooming than I do - my iris reticulata isn't even budding yet.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky!! Nothing showing here yet. Snow just melted off beds.
ReplyDeleteI have never planted bulbs that the moles didn't devour! I love crocus and have always wanted helibores for some early spring color! My forsythia is about to bloom though and that's the first thing around here to say hello to spring!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are looking so pretty and lovely. The last I looked my few daffodils had buds! I need to plant some more spring flowers somewhere. Thanks for sharing. Nancy
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky Debbie! I think we are a long way off from this yet! Your blooms looks so pretty! Love them! Have a lovely week! Angie xo
ReplyDeleteMy daughter planted tulips a couple of years ago and she loves seeing them sprout every year! We've got leaves, no flowers yet - but soon!

So nice to see blooms Debbie. I wish I had a green thumb, but I don't:(
ReplyDeleteOK, crocus good, red sedum, awesome!!! dang I wish i could grow it here to such perfection!!!
ReplyDeleteI love spring blooms. I used to live in a place where they started coming up in February. Now we're in a place where we don't seem to get them, but then again we had lots of snow on the ground until about a week or so ago.
ReplyDeleteFebruary?? Wow, that's early and would be so welcome! The day after I took these photos, we had a blizzard. It melted later in the day, but April is so fickle. Hopefully you get some growing soon. :)
DeleteWe have had a few daffodils pop up! Can't wait for the other flowers to follow!
ReplyDeleteblessings,
karianne
Oh How beautiful Debbie - there's HOPE?

My daffodils just bloomed yesterday. I was so spoiled with the good weather we had all last winter, that it's killing me that it's been so cold for so long.
