So I am sharing a few pictures of visitors I had the other evening. I was disappointed because the cardinal picture didn't turn out and every time he came around there was too much activity going on, meaning he didn't stick around. One day soon...I promise I will have the perfect picture of one of my favourite birds. :)
Blue Jay
They love the peanuts I put out for them!!
Yellow Finch
These pretty fellows seem to prefer the black oil sunflowers over the niger seed!?
Wren
You can see her peeking out the 'door'. She makes her home in this old bird house every year. (at least I like to think it is her coming back each year, or maybe it is her daughters returning home to raise their young?) :)
Chipmunk...he loves the peanuts...heck, he loves it all!!
I love the birds...and my most relaxing time is sitting in my garden with my camera trying to catch all the activity in my own backyard.

I love them too! It is so fun to watch them! You are so lucky to have chipmunks!!! I'm a bit jealous!!! They are adorable! We only have squirrels here...
ReplyDeleteLove all your different birdhouses too!
xoxo- Julie
Thank you Julie. I have lots more houses than I showed here...it gets addicting. :)
DeleteGreat pictures! I have to say the bluejays around here are quite bold. I think "Angry Birds" would be a suitable nickname!!
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they? I watched a couple chickadees chase away a blue jay, pretty sure he was trying to rob their nest...I love them but they can be nasty. :)
DeleteI love watching the birds also. The yellow Finch is so stunning. I think you got some great shots. We don't have chipmunks or squirrels in our gardens.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Thanks Jann :)
DeleteHi! I love the cardinals and gold finches too. We have had a few but not enough to suit me! Nancy
ReplyDeleteIs there ever enough birds in the gardens Nancy? :)
DeleteThe Jay photo with the peanut makes me laugh! As if he's trying to wolf it down. The garden would be so vacant without the critters. They are the life that connects it all together. I adore them too.
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, yes, the jays are always cavorting around the property. And your comment is so true. :)
