Summer is here and with the start of it comes our country's special day, on July 1st. Originally called Dominion Day, it is the anniversary of the British North American Act (now called The Constitution Act) of 1867. It is the day Canada became a kingdom in it's own right. We are still part of the monarchy of Great Britain, having a Governor General that is our direct link to the Queen.
I love decorating for Canada Day, this year is toned down since I'm working all weekend and my husband is away helping a friend. I still planted a couple of 'Canada Day' planters, and put out some flags.
Wishing everyone a Happy Canada Day!! And for my friends south of the border, wishing you all a Happy 4th of July, celebrating your Independence Day!
I hope you have a safe & happy holiday weekend.

Everything looks very festive. We are in for a hot long weekend. Have a safe holiday too.
