This morning we finally got some much needed rain!! Yeah...so excited...and then it stopped. All of 5 minutes. Still cloudy and hoping we get more. So, I had to take pictures of some blooms with raindrops clinging to them. :)

After the rain stopped, the sun came out for a couple minutes. Look at how the roof is 'smokin'!
We have this old bench that a friend left with us. We have used it for years around the fire. Sadly it has seen better days...and Larry wants to burn it. Um...pardon?? Not a chance!!! I will have somewhere to use it in the gardens, not a doubt! But that will be a future post. ;)
I'm sharing with:

Lovely photos, especially after the rain. That man should have his mouth washed out with soap for saying he wants to burn that chair. I bet you could replace some of those wood strips (if the rest of the frame is sturdy) else it would make a wonderful planter.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI suppose we could repair it & paint it. I'm sure it would get used around the fire. I had another idea (yes, some sort of planter), but I should see if it is still worthy of being a chair. I'll let you know what the verdict is...
Beautiful! And I agree with Crafty Gardener about that chair, lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda :) And I think most of us would agree with Crafty Gardener!!
DeleteOH MY GOSH, these are the most beautiful photos of flowers I've ever seen. Wow!
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you!! :)
DeleteHi! Great flower pictures both before and after the rain! How dare someone think of throwing away our treasures! lol Nancy
ReplyDeleteThank you...and no kidding, eh? The nerve! lol
DeletePlease send us folks in Mo. some needed rain. Your flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnne
Thank you, Anne. :) Fortunately, we did get more rain in the afternoon. We still need more, too!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and your photos are wonderful! We are having the Summer of the Lilies at AmaraLand and while all of your flowers are beautiful I really love your lilies! Mine have maybe a week to go for this summer and I am so going to miss their fragrance!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have other lilies I haven't posted yet, will get them up one day soon. They are so beautiful
DeleteDebbie :)
Great pics! Keep them coming as I won't be taking any like that around here :) Just saying.....Also love your wooden bench. We had a similar one and refinished it with a light sanding. Then mixed turpentine and linseed oil half and half and gave it several coats of that drying between times. Looked great if you want a natural wood finish that resist the rain that is. Thanks for linking at Say It Saturday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Connie! If I decide to fix it up to use, I will keep this method in mind! I still haven't decided, still thinking it might end up as a growing bench. I'll let you know
DeleteDebbie :)
Such beautiful flowers and incredible photography! I'd love for you to teach me how to grow such beauties AND take such awesome photos of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd that bench? Don't you dare burn it! Such character in it. :D
Thank you Lisa!
DeleteNo way is that bench going anywhere but around the yard!!
Debbie :)
