I have been looking for something to display my acrylic paint on. It was a pain in the butt trying to find the right colour with them lined up on a shelf. You can get an idea from this tiny, really bad photo.
I was at the thrift store and found a cubby shelf for $3.99. And then I found another...higher price, but I got them both for the lower price. Nothing like being able to create a solution for the craft room for such a low price. Just like my glue gun stand I made from scraps!
I primed them, painted them...
And then we hung them on the wall beside my cabinet.
All my paints fit in there perfectly! I love it and now it's easy to find the colour I need.
I still have room for more...especially since I took duplicates out and put them in the crate with the grandkids' craft supplies.
Gotta love great finds at the thrift store! Where do you store your craft paint?
This is a great storage idea. I've got mine in baskets and a storage tote with a handle. I moved them downstairs this year but haven't got around to using them yet. I've been in Value Village lately but haven't seen anything that grabs my attention ... mostly I find their prices are getting quite high. I've got a new thrift store that I love to go to, and will be there on Tuesday. Right now I'm buying pieces to make a glass totem or two.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I love this, and especially that you found the cubbies at a thrift store! Clever! I wonder if you turn the bottles around if it would be even easier to see the colors. I also wonder if I can find cubbies like this for sale retail. I'll have to look because I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteHey...when you're done with your craft room, will you come fix mine? What a great idea for the paints!
ReplyDeleteOh fantastic , I love it, great idea to keep all your paints tidy and organized ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, Debbie. I'm jealous of your work space - my crafts are in our 85 year old unfinished basement. Not exactly inspiring down there - lol.
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever idea. Love how you can see all the colors!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever solution and love the thrift aspect of it! I am not much of a painter and the few paints I had for stenciling are probably all dried up by now! Thanks for sharing all your great ideas! Nancy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy, and you're welcome! :)
DeleteThis was brilliant! I keep mine (or did) in an old wooden spice rack I redid in cornflower blue and then hand painted flowers since it was during the time a friend and I were all into tole painting and classes!
ReplyDeleteThis is a much better solution and looks fantastic too!

That's a great idea, too, Julie! I bet it looked beautiful with the tole painting on it.
DeleteThanks so much :)
Debbie, I LOVE your paint shelf! How creative :) Thank you for your helpful ideas - it's always fun visiting your wonderful blog.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Monday!
Hugs,
Stephanie
Debbie, I was wondering if you could answer my question. I am making a strawberry bed and thought maybe I should add sand to the mixture. If so, do I add play sand, coarse builders sand or pavers sand? Is coarse builders sand the same as pavers sand? We laid newspapers down and leaves and compost for the base and then I thought maybe I should add a little sand. What suggestions do you have? I tried to google it but seems I find different answers. Thanks. Nancy My e-mail is bobnanmol at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteThat's AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! ~Tammy
ReplyDeleteWow! You are serious about painting! Love it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimee! Yes, and the grandkids love it as much as I do. :)
DeleteWell you are just so organized. My craft paints are in my craft desk drawer. Of course, I am always buying doubles because I can't find it. This is great Debbie.
ReplyDeleteOh how awesome is that?!! I don't envy you painting inside everyone of those cubby holes, but I sure do envy the end results!! What a great find and you knew just what to do with them!
