Yep, I know, I'm way behind in sharing my Easter decorating. Everyone is probably moving on to April Fool's Day decor...do people do that?
I love rustic, and I love spring. Mixing the two together can be challenging, bright spring colours with dull rusty metals. But, I love how our buffet turned out!
I love the blue of the tropical Hydrangeas
To me Easter means flowers (after the real reason for the season, of course!). Because Easter is the start of spring. And spring brings flowers.
Okay, this pheasant breast aloe isn't a flower, but the pot it's in worked with the decor. And the saucer is a silver plate that's tarnished...perfect.
This Bible has been in my maternal grandmother's family since 1871! It is tattered and I want to build a special case for it, for now it looks perfect on the buffet (which was my grandmother's, too).
I set the cloche on our family Bible with a bird, brass pear and egg-cup filled with a twine wrapped egg.
Heather, from New House New Life New Home, gave me some branches from her magnolia tree when we met earlier in the month. The branches I forced are finished, so I really appreciated them to fill up this space. They are starting to bloom and I like the height they give to the vignette.
I moved the chalkboard from the fireplace mantle and the other books & cloche from the buffet to dress up the matching china cabinet on the other side of the room.
I really need to practice my penmanship for chalkboard art.
I love the look of old brass, tarnished silver and rusty keys.
Today we are having a few of the kids and grandkids for dinner. And everything is looking lovely.
Better get peeling potatoes and making the deviled eggs. The kids will be here soon!
Happy Easter to everyone! Have a safe holiday weekend with family and friends.
It looks so beautiful Debbie! You have such a great eye for design & decorating. Happy Easter to you & yours too. :)

Thank you Julie! Happy Easter to you, too. :)
DeleteYour Easter decorations are so nice as usual. I hope your family loved everything and you had a nice visit! Have a blessed Easter! Nancy
ReplyDeleteYour vignette looks awesome, Debbie. There are so many things I want to comment about:
ReplyDeleteLove the way the cloches turned out - got to get me a couple of vases just the right shape - I looked in my stash and there was nothing that would work. Guess I'm off to Goodwill to find one.
The bible - what a family treasure. Yes, yes, get Mr. Dewdrop to build you a case for it!!
The magnolia - it looks terrific - glad you got some shots of it. Mine are almost done - hanging on for the weekend, then I'll cut some more.
Pussy willows that YOU gave ME - they are done - just green now. Except this morning I noticed a few tiny little pussies on the curly willow. Can't wait to get them outdoors.
Happy Easter - enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
Hugs
